Welcome to a mini review, this time I will share my experience doing the easter eggs from Black ops 3 zombies in 2023.

Disclaimer:

This isn't a complete analysis like our big normal reviews, this is a personal write about my experience in the topic of choice.

We have complete reviews of some highly recommended games, check them out,  Zelda TOTK or more story based like Yakuza 0 and don't forget the excellent Dredge.

The experience:

In order to get the grasp of the game and maybe get more players invested or at least know why there's people interested after more than 5 years is a complex reason but we will try to explain a little more out of the normal.

A fresh account and the numbers are rising

The atmosphere:

We start with this because the maps story are completely confusing and I'm far from being an expert.

I almost always play this game with a couple of friends that have played way more than me and explain the brief resume of whatever I'm asking.

Let's start with the cinemas, they're really good and by the pacing of time they changes from a "cartoonish" style to classic high quality cinematics for the start of every playthrough.

Great quality and investing to say the least

All the maps shows grims representations of a lot of things:

A city tarnished by sins and luxury's.

A secret research center on a cold mountain.

A infected forest.

A warzone in Stalingrad.

A fantasy dimensional crash of many worlds to explain the principal ones.

This is the winner side of the game, the maps has so much details and an atmosphere that nothing asks to an horror game.

The zombies always chasing you maybe don't let you explore all that you want but you have the option of blowing the legs of some poor soul and explore more free.

Not my proudest try

The maps are very diverse and more extended that you can see at first glance, every one of them (the 5 principals) are heavily lore charged, also the Zombies Chronicles Dlc is a must for anyone who likes this style.

The beginning of zombies:

All the way from the beginning on World at war, the story has been so confusing that theories and a lot of videos explained the diverse details the maps had.

They were the always perfect companion for the casual player with an interest to know everything.

Every map with a few exceptions like the first ones or some of black ops 1 had an commonly known as " Easter Egg".

A secret unlockable ending or conversation, change on the map, a boss or something.

Following certain steps that the map very softly said to us and some of them I never would have thought by myself.

These were the stairs to the sky of the popularity of the mode, when we got to the final zombies map "Moon", the hype was giant and the most polished easter egg to the date was a huge popularity boost.

The memories...

Black ops 2 had some interesting bits of story but as the tradition dictated, the most interesting one was the final map, Origins.

The map that worked towards an story and 4 protagonists
Now we jump to Black Ops 3, in my opinion the peak of popularity of the Zombies Part of Call Of Duty.

We start on Shadows of evil and the most hated one for a simple reason, the map isn't exactly an easy plain and simple map, it's very tedious for some quickplays.

All the gimmicks you have to do for set up a good game, plus the Easter egg is co-op only, a major set back for the saga.

I have to clarify, the map isn't bad, the problem is for being the only "free" map.

The "beast", the speedrun mode to open passages

As a casual player trying out BO3 this map will probably be so hard and tedious, the other map "The giant" being available, straight forward and fun to casual gameplay was a temping offer but a low punch to be fair.

With that said every other map had is up and  downs, for saying something about them:

Der Eisendrache was pretty good and the easter egg started the itch for final bosses on zombies maps.

Zetsubou No Shima was criticized for the tedious of turning on the power but good overall amd pretty sinister.

Gorod Krovi is a personal favorite with the ambience, the easter egg isn't one of my favorites but a good casual run if fun here.

Revelations was a good glimpse to all the story of zombies, nice flashbacks and a ending that I don't personally love but for gameplay purposes was a huge success in the lore.

To end this, I will spoiler a little bit of the ending because for gameplay purposes was just the point of answering and justify the story.

You're on a cycle, everytime you fail, another one take your place and try again, that's why you can start again and Richtofen always know more than he let out, because he remembers a little of every try, simply marvelous but as a end of the story far from being satisfying (for me)

This is it, thanks for reaching the end, I hope that the itch of playing zombies grow on you because it's pretty fun and satisfying when you finally get the ee after days of trying.

With nothing more to add, we see you on the next one!
