Chronicles Conclusion:
Highly recommended but consider that is a Point & Click game, of excellent quality no doubt.

Welcome to a new installment of the Chronicles Of A Gamer.

Don't forget to check out our newest study part Toxicity & Teamwork or another great Capcom entry Resident Evil 2 Remake

A great Point & Click adventure because I recently had been addicted to the genre.

The Story:
We are in front of a duology (important fact) inside the universe of Ace Attorney, with a little twist, now without an actual attorney, that's a work in progress, for now a languages student.

To be fair the game starts the same way as the rest of the series, a "mock" case, not because they have nothing in game, in fact the first great ace  attorney has a heavy story driven first case but as always working as a tutorial.

We are confronted by a murder accusation and presented as Ryunosuke Naruhodo (Phoenix Wright ancestor) a English language student of Japan, but remain in the law's business for the sake of the story.

Harsh start but works wonders as immersion om the protagonist personality

Next we know are that we're on the road to England, meeting new interesting historical personalities like Herlock Sholmes and the rest is story for a no spoilers review.

The game has a lot of twists, mysterious ways of doing things, characters and interactions between the gameplay and story, all is top notch in my opinion.

The only disclaimer that I have is that the first time I played the game but I only had the opportunity of the first one and the game is a duology.

I finished with a huge disappointment because the ending case had a lot of unfinished business, secrets and the story wasn't that interesting over the last cases for an Ace Attorney Game.

The prosecutor and overall game was great but nothing to write home about.

Finished the second one all pieces fallen into place so I was misinformed about the story.

That's why I reviewed the game as the Chronicles edition, the two games works as one and in separate ways they simply don't function well.

Hey! I recognize this dude

The story is a giant chart of cases and intersections between one case and other, the game is planned as that, in previous games the more you approached the end the more wild and interesting the story was.

With the last case ending the story on a high note solving one or more mysteries around the central story of the game.

On this one you will be solving cases but almost every one of them left out something that doesn't feel right and the feeling is continuous through the first and some parts of the second game.

Landing on the second one the story will be unraveling around the central problem, with this on mind the game will surprise you a lot because the things that the first one left alone maybe wasn't an error so play the both one after the other to get the full experience.

Don't forget that the cases are the most important part of the game and standalone the most interesting experience within

The Gameplay:
Well this section will be far shorter than normal, don't forget that this games are point & click visual novels, the investigations and cases are very good but in gameplay we resume to click something and read.

Collect evidence clicking everywhere and presenting things to the characters around, and that's summarize almost everything about investigations.

Another little bit is that when you're interacting around, maybe something will be changing in the background so you have to keep your eyes open every time and always read everything that the people says beforehand to get the grasp of the situation.

In the push and shove than is a trial, you will have to make decisions based only on your instincts and bits of information around, so keep it sharp

The other important side of the game are the cross-examinations.

Basically we will be asking questions to the key persons involved in the cases, pressing them for more information and catching lies or mistakes.

This is by far the most fun and interactive part of the game, for example you can ask details about a certain sentence and get extended information or maybe push a bit to much and they make a mistake that you can use.

Other situation are when you have evidence that directly counter information said on the testimony of the person in the table so this has so much juice and meat, consider that every person has it's personality, costume, physical "tics" or something like that.

Also you can speak to some people the same way out of the trials for getting information beforehand and prepare accordingly or write details that can come handy later.

"Everyone lies"
Phrase used a lot by an intellectually gifted doctor and how right it was

In Conclusion:
It's a pretty straight forward visual novel divided in two games.

An excellent game as a whole, the story begins and ends in a high note and to be honest I was pretty sad because this saga isn't exactly famous for it's continuous new games but the quality is unquestionably.

If you have the opportunity don't wait to play it, an excellent recommendation for a good story and some mental exercise.
