Welcome to a new installment of Chronicles Of The Gamer, this time a small review of an excellent indie game.

The Prelude:

For anyone that don't find itself immerse on the videogames industry, a year ago (approximately) a game called Vampire Survivors came as a great hit for the industry.

A simple but effective gameplay plus lots of  unlockables and permanent upgrades directly taken of any roguelike were the formula of success.

That's the introduction to this game, Brotato, a game with it's own charm and twists to that formula of vs that made this type of games relevant again.

Layout is pretty simple with an upside down view

The Gameplay:

My advice would be to have a good autocontrol before playing this game because is highly addictive, for a couple of good points that the core gameplay has so let's analyze them.

The "two" part gameplay.

I refer to it because every time that you clean a wave you will enter the shop and this is half of the game, constantly shifting what you have, buying, selling or refreshing the inventory.

The point is that the frenetic gameplay contrast pretty good with the management of the game.

You have four items and you have to option of locking any number of the 4 to buy them more ahead and the only penalty is that any item locked don't get new items over it so nothing important.

Constant shift of gameplay and decision making at the same time makes wonders for the unique runs every time you're here

The other part is a classic survival by hordes, we control an extremely well trained potato that has the power of manifest 6 arms and is extremely proficient with any weapon that he can find.

You can combine weapons of the same tier, recycle, find items or buy them directly from the shop, also they're random so sticking with a build is never a good idea from run to run.

You can attack automatically by the range of every weapon or can change for a manual attack by aiming but the game don't change a lot and by personal recommendation stick to the automatic attack for a better experience

A detail is that your potato change a little depending on what items you have at the moment (only visuals)

The Conclusions:

The game works because the excellent diversity of items and weapons, all the builds that you can make are the reason for all the fun.

Every run is different and the content isn't exactly low, we have different difficulties and an "endless mode" for all those seeking a good challenge.

Also the "unique" items that you can find in the game are game changers sometimes because they gives very specific benefits and downsides that make far richer the experience.

Things like getting lots of life steal but every second we take automatic damage so we have to play extremely aggro.

I don't have much to show because the game in movement are the best way of getting the grasp, sadly I don't have the means to do that.

To end this, the game made their own way far from being a clone of Vs and that is something to praise, we have the same idea in the core.

The constant interactions with the shop and the much different items and "classes" make it pretty unique and original so highly recommended.
