Our Way To Score

We have a system based on different characteristics of every game.

We adapt to every game and as consequence we do the distribution of value accordingly.

For saying something, the gameplay in a visual novel with interactions between characters, don't have the value on the fights or graphics, maybe the intensity of the emotions that the game make the players feel.

With that aside let's explain our way of thinking:

The Story:

We analyze the quality, how long it is, how many hours of quality are there, what's the message if there's any or they completely share what are trying to say, a lot of things but we consolidate them in one section for better measurements.

The Gameplay:

All included on it, from the world, the mechanics, exploration, fighting system, loot or rpg system, player choices, ways of solving what the game throws at you, all that gameplay has involvement, in general how good it is and if the story and gameplay functions well along then we value it much higher.

The performance:

We almost never talk about how well the game runs but we always take it on account, if we don't say nothing about it, then the game runs fine.

Any problem worth mentioning will be in the table at the very beginning and depending on it's complexity we will have a specific section to it or only a mention in the gameplay or conclusions section.

The verdict:

We don't like the scores for a game because we think it simplifies so much the opinion of someone and can hurt the reputation of a game solely based on subjective thinking.

That's why we do two different things at the beginning of the game.

First of all the conclusion, basically we always recommend the games we review on the retrospectives, that's why we do them but on the reviews it's not that easy.

We go from recommending the game, a must play or okay with details(not only limited to those three positive conclusions but they are the most common) to not recommended or in case of something very extreme, directly never involve with it.

I know that the scores from our blog seems pretty basic but we also do a cons and pros list on the beginning for those people seeking a fast opinion on a game.
